Hi Fi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3

HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3 features a large-scale, handmade audio system by multi-disciplinary artist Devon Turnbull. Known under his creative pseudonym OJAS, Turnbull handcrafts high-fidelity audio systems designed to envelop the listener in sound that is as rich in texture as it is in emotion.

Upon entering, visitors will experience realistic, natural sound from Turnbull’s sculptures and a chance to slow down and engage deeply with sound.

BAD was fortunate to continue our collaboration with OJAS to design temporary solutions for treating this historic room to rise to the sonic occasion. On-site testing, virtual modeling, and low-frequency analysis alongside Sublime LLC helped to target bass response while treatments from Kvadrat Acoustics were used to control late reflections at higher frequencies throughout the room.

The listening room is part of the forthcoming Art of Noise exhibition (on view until July 19, 2026) 2026).

A public listening room in collaboration between OJAS, the USM furniture showroom in SoHo, and with support from Kvadrat Acoustics. BAD advised on room shaping, treatment specifications, room acoustic modeling, and acoustical testing at all stages of design to create a flexible listening room that is open to the public every Saturday noon-5pm and on Mondays-Fridays by appointment only.

Mono Space

Part of the Strata Foundation, Mono Space invites listeners in the Pacific Northwest an opportunity to join in deep listening through sonic programming that includes album listening, screenings, panel discussions, and guided sonic exploration.

BAD helped deliver the architectural acoustic plan through room modeling, auralizations, on-site commissioning, and planning with custom fabricators to ensure enhanced acoustics while preserving the historic appearance.

180 Studios - Reverb x OJAS

A listening room designed in tandem with the larger 180 Studios Reverb exhibition and live event series, which kicked off during the summer of 2024 in London. The OJAS listening room continues to host ticketed and public listening events.
